URGENT ACTION ITEM: Asylum-Seeking Parents Confront Sophie's Choice
ICE decision deadline tomorrow: Family separation versus coronavirus exposure
Original canvas painting by Diana Corralez, San Antonio, Texas.
HELP STOP FAMILY SEPARATION: ICE has given detained parents a Sophie’s Choice: Keep your children with you in prison, condemning them to possible illness, maybe even death; or let the kids go. Tomorrow, July 17, is the court-ordered deadline for the agency to let the children go. So far, they have shown no indication that they will let their parents accompany them. PLEASE HELP US MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND: THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Here's how you can help.
Many thanks to award-winning journalist Sarah Towle for her ongoing coverage of this critical issue; to Diana Corralez for her inspired canvas painting — and to Fran Tatu for the timely heads-up.
